At low tide, a mother grizzly and her cubs forage along the Great Bear Rainforest's shoreline. While the cubs are completely absorbed in sniffing among the rocks for their next meal, their mother pauses and glances toward our boat. Her gaze reveals the quiet vigilance of a watchful mother scanning her surroundings. Mom quickly determined that we were no threat and the family continued foraging uninterrupted. This picture captures the balance between curiosity, nourishment, and constant vigilance in the wild.
