Nancy Wessely

Nancy Wessely portrait

Nancy Wessely is a wildlife photographer whose work captures the emotion, personality and beauty of the birds and animals of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Since beginning her photography journey in 2020, she has found inspiration in subjects of every size, from tiny pikas to powerful grizzlies.

Time spent observing wildlife has deepened Nancy’s appreciation for the challenges animals face simply to survive. This understanding guides her commitment to ethical photography and respect for her subjects in their natural habitats. For Nancy, the most compelling animal to photograph is always the one before her, with its own character and story to reveal.

Based in Alberta, Canada, Nancy lives with her husband and their three rescue dogs. She spends much of her free time outdoors, exploring the mountains with her camera in hand.
