This still life image was inspired by the Dutch Masters Vanitas period, exploring the concept that we all must die (momento mori) and that amassing wealth and treasures matters little in the end. In this case a wild horse skull was used with other horse paraphernalia representing the history of horses through the ages and their servitude to mankind. The elements include bits, spurs, trophies, horse hair raku, horse thistle, horse chestnuts, an old conquistador stirrup, hobbles and books.
Limited edition of 50. Signature Collection.
