On a northern Vancouver Island beach, the black bears gather to fish for the returning spawning salmon. On this morning three bears take up position in hopes the salmon will swim by their rock. Most days it is mostly sit and wait but when a salmon does try and get up the river its full on action. This is how I spend my fall days on Vancouver Island.
