Each summer, hundreds of Bald Eagles gather in the waters around Campbell River, British Columbia, drawn by an extraordinary feeding opportunity. Perched in the surrounding trees, they wait patiently for strong tidal currents to push hake toward the surface. Then, in an instant, the stillness erupts. Eagles take flight, twisting and diving in a flurry of acrobatic manoeuvres as they compete fiercely for their prize. This eagle emerged victorious, clutching a hake in its powerful talons as it flew from the fray. Witnessing this remarkable display of skill and competition was unforgettable. One of the most thrilling wildlife spectacles I have ever experienced.
